When Do We Meet?

The KIWANIS CLUB OF HARRISONBURG meets each Tuesday at noon at Tradition's Family Restaurant at 625 Mt. Clinton Pike. Luncheon is buffet style; the buffet opens shortly before noon and remains open to accommodate late arrivals.

Programs are always timely and informative. Each speaker is given a courteous reception and ample time to make a serious presentation. Fellowship constitutes a major and essential component at each gathering. On those occasions when an Interclub visits us, we make every effort to host these visitors always applying the golden rule.

What Do We Do?

The motto of Kiwanis International is "Serving the Children of the World". This describes this club precisely;

We serve in the community, e. g. we were the founding fathers of Rockingham Library and continue our support of Massanutten Regional Library

We serve in fostering the quality of life for our youth, e. g. each year we award scholarships to deserving high school seniors to assist them in pursuing collegiate studies

We serve the community through strong support of the Children's Museum both monetarily and physically aiding with hosting First Fridays at the museum.

We build for healthier lives in the world, e. g. the program to eradicate Iodine Deficiency Disorders is an international program that the club has given long and fruitful support

We build for the future, e. g. the Kiwanis Foundation provides a vehicle through which long-lasting plans are realized. Also we seek to develop future leaders in our sponsored youth programs: Circle K @ JMU, Key Club @ HHS, and Builders Club @ TJMS

We serve --- the list goes on. Stay tuned - - -
